i love this picture of collette. she looks like she is famous. hannah threw a wonderful 2nd birthday party for our friend collette. look at the cute banner (in the background) that she made. i can't believe she is 2- it seems like yesterday when clark & i went over to the huffmans to stay the night with eliot! happy birthday sweet friend!
lynne & ella came for a visit this weekend. its amazing that lynne drove over 5 hours with a 1 year old, just to see us! ella has really grown up- she is great. she & clark have become good friends. ella was so great to garage sale with us for 2 days! and she became good friends with little sam. we loved getting to know her better. she is such a little entertainer & so expressive! lynne tried her first freezer paper stencil and it turned out so cute! here is a great garage sale find- just $1 for this beautiful vintage table cloth! i also found more vintage sheets & another table cloth. lynne & i were excited to find some brand new tins that said "flour", "sugar", & "coffee" only to find, when we got home, the sugar had no lid! luckily, katrina found several tins that she bought all for $1 and donated a few with mushrooms on them to me. overall, it was a successful weekend on "the circuit" (garage sale circuit) and so refreshing to spend time with a good friend.
it is sweet ella sitton's birthday today! here she is with her new wee bunny (pattern from www.weewonderfuls.com) & gymboree outfit. i really can't believe that she is already 1. i remember driving home from the hen when lynne told me she was pregnant with ella. really, it doesn't seem that long ago. and it seems like yesterday when lynne called at 10:30 at night to tell me about ella's arrival! hope you enjoy your day, little friend! by the way, what a beautiful day for a birthday!

our friends john and kristen had their grand opening for their hip new shoe store located in the crossroads district in kc. they have done so much work, especially in the last month. a lot of their work was creative work, too, which i think takes a lot longer to figure out. clark & i would never be able to make the kinds & quanitities of decisions these people make. their store is great & every one of the hundreds of people who went there friday loved it. i can't wait to go when there are less people & more time to try on all the shoes i'd like to have. there are a few i have my eye on. there are a few pictures from the event in my album on the left. i can't figure out how to change the order, so they are still mingled with the huffman visit pictures. that mostly means you'll get to see cute pictures of the huffmans again, which is a good thing. so, congratulations friends. it is the beginning of a whole new life. yea for you.
this weekend was so great. clark & i went to kc to celebrate his birthday. we realized how much we miss our good friends & how blessed we are to have them. the mcclains, who have been such good friends since summer staff and london and are now following their dream of opening their own business, were so kind to host the party for sarah & clark. sarah & clark have been celebrating their birthdays together for at least 6-7 years. among these celebrations include a 17 person dinner party & helping to get a waiter fired. the parties end up getting pretty large since clark & sarah are both local celebrities & who doesn't love them & want to spend time celebrating how great they are. 
a favorite part of the evening was when little eliot just decided to climb up onto my lap, put his arms around my neck, & fall asleep. those times are rare since he is usually running around & doing his own thing. another favorite part was when we all decided to share our favorite discipline stories from when we were kids (i wish we could have heard some of mike's stories, i'm sure he has a few). it turns out i might have had the least amount of discipline & clark had the most. brett definitely had the best story. collette's green cords were too much to take. and margot is smarter & cuter every time i see her. the wildman girls were so sweet to draw birthday pictures for clark. it was an all around great night. friends, we love you.
