this is kind of crazy. clark & i decided yesterday to move the moving truck up to today. so, that puts us loading up tonight & heading to kansas city in the morning!
we welcome any kansas city friends that want to help us unload. we are hoping to leave by 9 or 10! we can't wait!
sorry its been a while since my last post. we are wrapping up our time here in columbia and now are out of the internet at our place, since our neighbors who we have been getting signal from moved last weekend. this means i don't have a way to transport pictures to my blog. i wish the title to this post was true and that clark & i were really packing like mad getting ready for the move. instead, i am just getting everything out & realizing how we have way too much stuff, then i get overwhelmed and just want to read & relax. so that's what i do.
i've been reading this book that julie let me borrow. it is so good but i can't read it without crying almost the entire time i'm reading it. it seems so real! and very, very sad.
i'm hoping for a burst of energy and vision for packing up the house this week. seriously, i have no excuse. clark & i have no evening commitments at all. maybe i've motivated myself to start "packing up the dreams". i know that adam sandler movie sounds pretty dumb, but i would like to be able to fast forward through the whole move process.
we can't wait to be back in fairway.
my 7 year old niece has lost her 2 front teeth.
i'm not sure if i've ever seen anything cuter.
i haven't done much in the way of crafting lately, but i did manage to make this little onesie for a friend at work's new baby girl. i've been loving birds lately. i'm thinking i might even invest in a little feeder when we get back to kansas city.
i just finished the great gatsby by f scott fitzgerald. has anyone read it? it is so good. i think i need to read it again to really catch everything. i definitely recommend it.
and today is lynne & matt's anniversary.
who can believe they've been married 2 years?
what a great wedding: everyone remembers the talent and the peonies and when matt said something about "consummation". i wish i was in oklahoma right now enjoying the tent and the pool and the fireworks.
this weekend we ventured, with the tomlins, to the small town of fayette, mo. maybe some of you have never heard of this town. you all should, though. it is the home of central methodist university. also known to have a bakery that has the best cinnamon rolls you might ever eat. even oprah loves them. we rounded the evening out with a tour of homes, the favorite was a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom beautiful home with a guest cottage for $165,000! and we had a great dinner at everitts. if you're ever in mid-mo, you should definitely check this little town out!

we got a late start on the circuit saturday.
it turns out people are a lot more willing to bargain when they are closing their sale in 15 minutes.
we came across this beautiful china that the seller's mother received at her wedding in 1963.
it was in perfect condition and so great. it was a little bit of a debate since i do already have so many dishes. they wanted $65 for the 32 piece set. they had just marked it down to $45. however, i only had $20 on me, so i offered that & they took it! immediately sarah & i looked up how much it was worth online & the total was $511!
there is a great trail near our house in columbia. clark & i love to walk around the "marsh". so much nature there! there are some beautiful birds, sometimes a deer or two, maybe a snapping turtle if you're lucky. last night it was especially beautiful as the sun was setting on the grasses. it seems a picture can never capture quite how beautiful it is.

i love this picture of collette. she looks like she is famous. hannah threw a wonderful 2nd birthday party for our friend collette. look at the cute banner (in the background) that she made. i can't believe she is 2- it seems like yesterday when clark & i went over to the huffmans to stay the night with eliot! happy birthday sweet friend!
